Market Updates January 2020

There is no doubt that December 2019 had been an unusually active market.
We had 17.4% more sales compared with the same period in 2018..

Total sales for calendar year 2019 amounted to 87,825 – up 12.6 % compared to the 78,015 sales reported in 2018. The average price of homes accrpss the Toronto Real Estate Board increased by 4% from $787,756 to $819,319.

Based on the demand for home ownership paired with the lack of homes available for sale, we believe that prices will continue to increase with a minimum of 6% in 2020.

A strong economy and declining mortgage rates and low inventor have brought new buyers into the market place, and that results in price increases.

While certain areas might be now out of some buyers' reach, there are still opporunities around us. The key is to get into the market as soon as possible, at least that way, when financial circumstances improve, you can always move to your area of first choice.

This could be a confusing time for some people not familiar with the market. But professionals keeping the pulse of the market every day can recognize opporunities. There are good buys happening every day in our market.

Our brokerage remains the #1 brokerage in central Toronto and York region in 2019.
